25 weeks - Doctor Update

I went to the doctor yesterday - only gained 4 pounds - YAY! Things are going so smoothly, and Dr. Hodges is so great about making me feel good about how everything is going.

I had to wait about an hour past my appt time - but I found out why - there was a patient who came in, and they couldn't find her baby's heartbeat - they did an emergency ultrasound and found everything to be okay - but it put the whole schedule behind. I didn't mind waiting one bit - because if the same thing happened to us - I would want them to do whatever it took to make sure everything was okay!

I talked to the Dr. about my trip to Washington DC, and he said it would be no problem, just to take a baby asprin the day before and day of travel to avoid blood clots - no problem! We listened to the baby's heartbeat - still in the 150's and measured my belly - we are measuring exactly 25 weeks!!! Everything is great!

I get to do my glucose test next appt, and get a shot of Rhogam, so I don't develop antibodies to Rh factor, since I am Rh negative. Should be fun!

Thats all for now!

I was blog-surfing and came across your pregnancy journal. I think it's a beautiful gift you will have for your son and an amazing thing for you to document. I wrote journals for my three children when I was pregnant with each one, but they are in spiral notebooks, not the internet. If you want to make sure to keep all these wonderful memories, you should copy and paste each of your posts onto a microsoft doc if you don't already. I do this for my current blog in order to create a hardcopy book someday-you never know if the internet's going to explode someday!

Anyway, enjoyed reading through your preg journal. Brought back some fond memories of my pregnancies. My babies are now 8, almost 7 and 4-1/2. Congrats and good luck to you and your husband!

Thanks for the comment Manic Mom - I didn't know anyone other than family read this. I am really enjoying being pregnant - and hope that each one is as much fun and excitement as this first one is! We are planning for 3 total sometime in the future!

Thanks for the tip on keeping a copy of this in hard print for future reference, I think I will print it out and put it in the baby's scrapbook - I don't want to lose anything!

Take care,
Amanda
